Won an eBay auction for this 27" iMac (2011), got it for $218 shipped. Just got it set up, it’s fantastic.
And very big.

Very nice price. I’ m still rocking a 24” early 2009 iMac. Swapped out the HD for an SSD a couple of years ago, and run it lean, with all storage external and only apps on the SSD. It’s plenty quick. I wouldn’t mind a bigger screen, but it wouldn’t fit on my desk.

I will say 21.5” iMacs from 2011 are pretty cheap too, if you wanted to upgrade for around $150-$200

No need to upgrade, I’m perfectly happy with it.

My advice is always to get bigger monitors. Should work well for now, though 2011 is getting pretty dated (though it’s helped by the fact Sandy Bridge was a great chip ).

I use it recreationally, and it’s better than my i3 Lenovo laptop. Plus you can upgrade to an SSD, boost the memory (currently 16 gb, can do 32), and put in an i7 drive. But I’ll mostly use it for homework, dashcam video editing, and very light gaming.
